Welcome to Platt Parlor, where we will discuss our ideas and reflections on what we have been reading, watching, and talking about in class.
You will be required to post one response per week here, which is due before you come to class on Monday. In addition, you are required to respond to at least two of your classmates before class on Wednesday. Your main post should be 100-200 words, and your responses should total about 100 words.
In your main post, you will discuss connections you have made to the texts we are experiencing in class. These may be personal connections (things in your life the readings remind you of), connections to other texts (literature, film, art, etc.), or connections to the outside world (politics, sports, popular culture, etc.). In short, you can write about almost anything, as long as it connects in some way to the texts we are examining.
In some instances, I will ask you to post about particular things--your visit to a bookstore, theater attendance, or book review, for example.
I will also use this space as a "bulletin board" to post announcements, class changes, etc., so check here frequently.
